Secutech Taipei Unveils Cutting-Edge AI Security Innovations from Global and Taiwanese Leaders

Secutech, a premier event in the security industry, officially opened its doors today at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, drawing a formidable assembly of international and Taiwanese security powerhouses. The exhibition kicked off with a notable presence from leading trade associations, esteemed Taiwan government representatives, and diverse delegations spanning Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, and Myanmar, all eager to witness the latest breakthroughs.

Hanwha Vision: Pioneering AI-Enhanced Security

Among the distinguished global brands making a significant impact was Hanwha Vision, showcasing its groundbreaking products powered by proprietary Wisenet SoCs. These advanced System-on-Chips, featuring a dual NPU, are engineered for distributed AI workloads, seamlessly optimizing AI-enhanced ISP functionalities on one front and agentic AI capabilities on the other.

As one of the select few security camera manufacturers boasting in-house developed chips, the Korean conglomerate maintains a keen strategic focus on Taiwan’s comparatively smaller yet highly mature market. Jack Miao, Marketing Supervisor at Unitech Computer, a trusted Hanwha integration partner based in Taipei, emphasized Hanwha’s commitment beyond technology. “While local brands offer competitive pricing, Hanwha’s value proposition lies in comprehensive solutions,” Miao stated in an interview at their booth. “This includes integrated video security, access control, alarm systems, and broader IoT integration, all delivered through our robust network of trusted integrators.” He further highlighted a key differentiator: “Aside from the technology, our unparalleled offer is a five-year guarantee on all Hanwha solutions, a commitment rarely matched by other brands.”

Network Optix: Streamlining AI Workloads from Edge to Cloud

US-based software innovator Network Optix, strategically operating its APAC headquarters in Taiwan, benefits from deep ties with local manufacturers and technology partners. At Secutech, where it commanded a strong presence, Network Optix unveiled its AI Manager – a sophisticated solution designed for the seamless distribution and management of AI workloads and agents. Optimized for edge devices, on-premise hardware like DVRs, and cloud environments, AI Manager promises unparalleled efficiency.

A company representative at the Network Optix booth underscored the emphasis on hardware compatibility across diverse device classes. “Our solutions are engineered to be as lightweight as possible to ensure broad compatibility,” she explained, also stressing their focus on integration with a vast array of hardware manufacturers. This versatility, she noted, is particularly advantageous for large-scale infrastructure operators. “This is especially beneficial for entities like smart city operators who manage numerous device classes and seek to optimize traffic flow and the seamless integration of public transportation options.”

Taiwanese Innovators Take the Stage: AVTECH and Merit LILIN

Taiwanese companies also left a substantial mark at Secutech, with AVTECH and Merit LILIN presenting video-security-centric solutions meticulously crafted to address the specific demands of various vertical markets.

AVTECH: Elevated Security for High-Stakes Environments

AVTECH, for instance, tailored its innovations for sectors requiring exceptionally stringent security and compliance standards, such such as banks. A standout technology showcased by AVTECH to differentiate itself was its NVRs featuring user-group classification and cutting-edge FIDO2-based access. This system enables users to log in with a password and their fingerprint via a compact USB-attached reader. Access to camera streams is then precisely controlled based on user groups, allowing either full access or limited viewing of specific feeds.

“This technology is also incredibly valuable for entertainment venues that might have VIP rooms,” explained Alejandro Portillo, Product Division Sales Manager at AVTECH. “Operators often need to ensure that only the most trusted security personnel have access to live streams of sensitive areas.” The pervasive theme of AI at Secutech among Taiwanese companies clearly centered on delivering tangible benefits to operators.

LILIN: Bespoke AI for Diverse Project Needs

LILIN exemplified this focus by meticulously tailoring all its AI features to the unique requirements of users. This includes catering to smaller projects with complex specifications, often overlooked by volume manufacturers.

“This strategic approach continues to fuel our success across 10 global markets where we have offices,” stated David Wang, Operation Manager, International Sales Department, Merit LILIN. “This includes crucial growth markets such as the US and India, where compliance, like with NDAA standards, plays a significant role in market acceptance.”

ONVIF: Driving Standardization and Integration

ONVIF, the international forum championing standardization and interoperability, proudly served as this year’s Knowledge Partner for Secutech. Represented by its Ambassador, Roberto Licari, the organization articulated its three core strategic areas:

Licari also highlighted a pressing industry challenge: the increasing integration of IT and security infrastructures, often accompanied by uneven implementation. “Many organizations remain divided into siloed departments, even as the technology they work with becomes increasingly integrated,” Licari observed, underscoring the ongoing need for cohesive operational strategies.
