Octave Bolsters Physical Security Arsenal with Strategic Acquisition of Cloud-Native Video Management Innovator, VXG

Octave, the eagerly anticipated software spinoff from Hexagon AB, has announced a significant strategic move with the acquisition of VXG, a leading provider of enterprise-grade, cloud-native video management software. This acquisition is poised to dramatically enhance Octave’s physical security portfolio, building on its commitment to simplifying complexity across the entire asset lifecycle.

The integration of VXG’s cutting-edge technology will enable Octave to significantly expand its AI-enhanced cloud capabilities, strengthening its software offerings designed to protect people, places, and assets with unparalleled efficiency and intelligence.

VXG: Powering Intelligent Surveillance for Diverse Sectors

VXG’s robust, cloud-native platform is a game-changer for organizations seeking to manage small to mid-sized security installations. Its reach extends across a diverse array of sectors, including corporate campuses, finance, retail, education, healthcare, and public safety.

At the heart of VXG’s offering is its powerful AI-powered engine, which seamlessly integrates advanced computer vision analytics with generative AI capabilities. This synergy delivers intelligent monitoring, real-time alerts, and streamlined investigations. Furthermore, the platform ensures secure access and efficient evidence-sharing workflows, critical for modern security operations. With an open ecosystem supporting hundreds of camera models, VXG is specifically engineered for service providers delivering Video Surveillance-as-a-Service (VSaaS).

A Partnership Forged, Now Fully Integrated

This acquisition solidifies a successful partnership that initially took root in June 2025, when Hexagon first introduced a cloud-based video management system powered by VXG’s innovative technology. By bringing VXG in-house, Octave gains full control over its technology stack, opening the door for seamless future portfolio integrations and accelerated product enhancements.

“VXG’s cloud-based video management system provides Octave with an immediate competitive advantage and perfectly aligns with our ambitious cloud roadmap,” stated Mattias Stenberg, CEO of Octave. “Its AI-driven design resonates deeply with our vision of delivering intelligence at scale. This acquisition significantly expands our hybrid deployment options—encompassing cloud, edge, and on-premises solutions—strategically positioning Octave to lead the industry’s inevitable shift towards cloud-first security solutions.”

The VXG leadership team, spearheaded by CEO Yaro Lisitsyn, will continue to play a pivotal role within the company. Their ongoing commitment will ensure the sustained development of the cloud roadmap and guarantee seamless continuity for both existing customers and partners.

VXG reported revenues of approximately US$ 1.0 million in 2025 and will be fully consolidated within Octave’s Protect workflow environment starting May 2026.
