Two prominent figures from Gunnebo Safe Storage have ascended to pivotal leadership positions within Eurosafe, the esteemed association representing Europe’s national safe manufacturers. Mark Brookes, a veteran in the secure storage industry, has been elected President, while Viktoria Lövberg takes on the vital role of Secretary, signaling a significant moment for the future of secure storage across the continent.
Founded in Paris in 1988, Eurosafe stands as a cornerstone for industry excellence, uniting national safe manufacturers’ associations across Europe. Its core mission is to champion best practices and foster the development of universal standards for a comprehensive range of secure storage products, including safes, strongrooms, data cabinets, and other critical security solutions.
Mark Brookes’ election as President, confirmed by a vote among Eurosafe members and the General Assembly, places him at the forefront of the association’s strategic direction. In this influential capacity, he will be instrumental in strengthening collaboration among national member organizations and advocating for consistent approaches to secure storage throughout Europe.
“It is such an honor to be elected as President of Eurosafe, representing a significant responsibility and an important opportunity to support national associations at a European level,” Brookes commented. He emphasized his vision: “The role is focused on representation, collaboration and ensuring the industry speaks with a clear and informed voice as requirements for safe storage continue to evolve.”
Beyond his new presidency, Brookes already holds a crucial technical leadership role as Chair of CEN Technical Committee 263. This committee is tasked with the development and rigorous maintenance of European standards specifically for the secure storage of cash, valuables, and sensitive data media. CEN/TC 263’s meticulous work establishes the testing and performance benchmarks for an extensive array of products, from safes and strongrooms to data cabinets, fire rooms, and ATMs. This ensures a uniform level of security, fire protection, and reliability across all European countries, encompassing both EU and non-EU nations.
Complementing Brookes’ leadership, Viktoria Lövberg, Commercial Director at Gunnebo Safe Storage, has been appointed Secretary of the Eurosafe committee. Her expertise will be invaluable in supporting the operational and strategic goals of the association.
Stefan Syren, President of Gunnebo Safe Storage, lauded the appointments, highlighting their profound impact. “With Mark and Viktoria in these prestigious roles, Eurosafe will benefit from their vast experience in safe-storage standards and practices, strengthening our collective commitment to supporting the security industry,” Syren stated. He added, “Their work will help ensure safes, strongrooms and other secure storage solutions across Europe remain reliable and resilient for everyone in the value supply chain.”
