i-PRO, a global force in professional security and public safety solutions, has announced a significant move to consolidate its manufacturing operations. Starting October 1, 2025, the company’s Saga factory, located in Tosu City, Saga Prefecture, Japan, will become its core production hub, initially focusing on security camera production.
The move signals a renewed commitment from i-PRO, formerly known as Panasonic Security, to supply the world with high-quality, “Made-in-Japan” products.
Ramping up production
The factory will kick off with a monthly production volume of approximately 14,000 units. i-PRO has ambitious plans to scale this up to around 40,000 units by fiscal year 2028 through strategic rationalization and automation initiatives. The company plans to gradually increase security camera production and introduce fully integrated production – from component mounting to final assembly and inspection – beginning in August of next year.
i-PRO is also embracing digitalization to streamline operations, aiming to deliver products within two weeks of receiving an order.
“In addition to Japan’s renowned technological expertise and quality, we will transform this facility into a core factory capable of competing globally in terms of both cost and delivery time,” stated i-PRO Chief Manufacturing Officer Keizo Yamaguchi.
Integrated showroom
Taking advantage of Tosu City’s convenient geographical location and transportation links, i-PRO intends to transform the entire factory into a living showroom. The company plans to invite customers from both Japan and abroad to experience firsthand its manufacturing philosophy and unique approach.
The Saga Factory has a rich history, established in 1964 as a production base for Kyushu Matsushita Electric, now operating as Panasonic Connect. Since 2022, i-PRO had outsourced the assembly of security cameras for the North American market. Following Panasonic Connect’s announcement last October of the Saga Factory’s closure, i-PRO, with the support of leading commercial real-estate service provider CBRE, began exploring options for continuing production at the facility.
Through a scheme facilitated by CBRE, i-PRO reached an agreement to lease the facility from Tosu Industrial Facility by the end of September 2025, paving the way for the company to conduct its own production at the factory.
