Skills for Security Champions New “Next Gen Network” to Empower Emerging Talent in Safety and Security

Skills for Security is throwing its full weight behind the newly launched Next Gen Network, an exciting initiative from the Safety & Security Event Series designed to empower the next generation of professionals across the security, safety, workplace, and integration sectors. Recognising its immense value, Skills for Security sees this network as a pivotal platform for early-career individuals to thrive and shape the future of the industry.

The Next Gen Network was conceived with a clear mission: to provide emerging talent with a more robust and visible voice within a rapidly evolving industry.

A Springboard for Future Leaders

Slated to run throughout the 2026 exhibition series, kicking off from April 28-30, 2026, this groundbreaking initiative will offer young professionals unparalleled opportunities. Participants will be able to engage in vital industry discussions, forge invaluable professional networks, and actively contribute to shaping the conversations that will directly impact their career trajectories.

Nathan Stovell, Senior Marketing Manager at Nineteen Group, highlighted the urgency of the initiative. “As the industry continues to grapple with well-documented skills shortages, the need to attract, retain, and develop new entrants has become increasingly pressing,” Stovell explained. “We launched the Next Gen Network to directly address this, creating an environment where young professionals can reach their full potential with dedicated industry support. Ambassadors like Skills for Security are absolutely critical to this success, playing an important role in building a workforce that is resilient, capable, and truly prepared for the future.”

Bridging Industry, Education, and Talent

Beyond individual professional development, the Next Gen Network aims to foster stronger alignment between industry, educational institutions, and professional bodies. By creating a consistent point of connection for emerging talent, the initiative facilitates closer dialogue between young professionals, employers, associations, and peers. This improved communication will enhance understanding of diverse career pathways, expectations, and the wealth of opportunities available across the sector.

The network also serves as a crucial mechanism for industry leaders to actively listen, respond, and adapt to the evolving priorities of the next generation. Insights gleaned through ambassador engagement will be instrumental in informing future event programming, content themes, and community initiatives across the Safety & Security Event Series. This ensures that the series continually reflects the dynamic needs of a modern, ever-evolving workforce.

David Scott, Managing Director at Skills for Security, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership. “It’s great to be involved in the Next Gen Network and to support an initiative that is focused on giving early-career professionals clear direction within our industry,” Scott stated. “Creating opportunities for a new way to champion talent and encouraging connection, learning, and a better understanding of the wider sector at this crucial stage of their career is essential. We’re eagerly looking forward to its launch and are committed to using our position to support and shape its future direction.”
