Suprema Eyes Global Domination with AI-Powered Security

Suprema Unveils AI-Powered Security Platform at ISC West 2025

Suprema, a global trailblazer in AI-based security solutions, made a splash at ISC West 2025, the premier security industry trade show in the U.S., held in Las Vegas from April 2-4. This year’s showcase saw Suprema launch a suite of integrated security technologies designed to cater to organizations of all sizes.

The star of the show was the global debut of BioStar X, Suprema’s cutting-edge integrated security platform. BioStar X unifies access control and video analytics into a single, powerful platform. By combining AI-powered real-time access management, video monitoring, and intelligent video analytics through one unified dashboard, security teams can efficiently manage complex environments and swiftly respond to incidents, even with limited resources.

Visitors to Suprema’s booth were treated to live demonstrations of BioStar X’s advanced abnormal behavior detection and video analytics. The platform, fueled by Suprema’s proprietary AI algorithm – a CES 2025 Best of Innovation Award winner – can identify potential threats such as intrusion, loitering, and falls. It also detects tailgating attempts in real-time, instantly alerting security personnel through the centralized dashboard for immediate action. The BioStar X dashboard is designed for intuitive use and is highly configurable, featuring real-time video monitoring, access logs, interactive building maps, and one-click action trigger buttons. This allows for optimized and efficient security management tailored to specific user needs. Supporting tens of thousands of users and over 5,000 connected devices, the platform is ideally suited for expansive, multi-use facilities such as airports, hospitals, and government institutions.

Alongside BioStar X, Suprema presented BioStar Air, a cloud-based access control system that empowers organizations to build a state-of-the-art security infrastructure without the need for on-premise servers. BioStar Air’s high scalability and flexibility make it an excellent choice for small businesses and multi-tenant environments. It supports a wide array of authentication methods, including AI-powered biometric authentication, mobile access, QR codes, and RFID, allowing businesses to select the methods that best meet their operational requirements while enhancing both security and user convenience. It also enables remote management from any location, at any time, via mobile or desktop, further boosting operational efficiency without geographical restrictions.

“I would say that our position, we are considered to be the board leader in the biometric space,” said Bob McKee, President of Suprema America, during the event. “First to introduce AI in fingerprint technology. We were first to introduce AI in facial authentication platforms. So we’re kind of leading the way. And our competition sees, replicates, and copies and says, ‘Hey, we need to have this because Suprema is doing this.'”

Suprema also unveiled CoreStation 20, a new 2-door controller engineered for cost-effective and scalable deployment. CoreStation 20 offers easy installation and a flexible architecture, providing robust encryption and uninterrupted operation, even during network outages, ensuring high security and reliability. Furthermore, Suprema demonstrated seamless system integration with major global security solution providers, including Verkada, Genetec, Gallagher, and Software House, offering broader compatibility. This strengthens Suprema’s ability to deliver optimized security solutions for diverse environments and solidifies its presence in the North American market.

“We are excited to present our AI and cloud-driven innovations at ISC West 2025, aligned with evolving market demands. Our in-house developed AI — recognized with the CES 2025 Best of Innovation Award — elevated both security and convenience of our solutions,” McKee said. “We believe this advancement will help our customers to build safer and more efficient security environments. Going forward, Suprema will continue to drive innovation and expand its presence in the North American market through cutting-edge technology and global partnerships.”

McKee highlighted significant market shifts driving the adoption of biometric solutions: “Last year in 2024 there’s single digit growth in the access control space. There was over 30% growth in biometrics. Being in the industry for many years, I’ve seen biometrics always published as the next frontier, but no one was adopting it. Now all of those barriers are starting to go down. The price of biometrics has tremendously lowered to where all of a sudden you can actually say, even though it’s higher than the traditional RFID, if you look at the total cost of ownership, how many times you issue credentials, that includes people who leave the company or a person who lost a credential, if you look at the total cost of that, all of a sudden biometrics becomes much more of a potential product.”

Biometrics Adoption on the Rise

Discussing vertical markets showing strong growth, McKee emphasized: “Data centers have adopted biometrics as a means of protecting that important data that resides in all of those servers. But I think if you look at any corporate environment looking to or needing identity, then biometrics is definitely the way to go. For example, a hospital environment, where there’s drugs, is an area that will require biometrics, not a traditional RFID.”

Suprema’s North American Strategy

Speaking about Suprema’s North American strategy, McKee shared: “Suprema came into this US market as a brand four years ago. We have a very solid strategy. We have aligned ourselves on the enterprise space, with all of the large global integrators, like Convergint, Securitas, JCI etc. Then each one of our regional managers has a mission of going into key markets that we want to focus in on, and see as many of those security integrators as possible. The differentiator in our industry is the people. It’s how we take care of customers, end-to-end. We want to make sure that they feel very confident that if they sell our products, we’re going to be right there with them no matter what.”
