Advancis Arrives in APAC with Tailored Security Solutions

Security systems are evolving beyond their traditional boundaries. Once isolated, video security and access control are now increasingly intertwined, not only with each other but also with the broader landscape of IoT, building automation, and fire safety systems. This convergence unlocks opportunities for businesses to leverage data for strategic insights, all while cybersecurity takes center stage. But with this increasing complexity comes the challenge of ensuring seamless integration. The demand is growing for “integration-first solutions” that offer a unified interface, enabling organizations to connect all their security, building, and IT systems on a single platform.

Advancis, a German-based global leader, has been at the forefront of this evolution for over 30 years. The company is known for delivering vendor-neutral integration solutions that form the backbone of complex security and building management systems. Its portfolio includes the WinGuard X5 Open Integration Platform and the Advanced Identity Manager (AIM) for Physical Identity and Access Management (PIAM), both designed to seamlessly connect diverse technologies.

With Advancis, organizations can unify their existing software and hardware into a single, efficient, and future-proof platform.

APAC as the new frontier

Advancis’ debut in the APAC region at The Security Event Asia, held at the Sands Convention and Expo Centre in Singapore from November 11-13, is perfectly timed for both the company and the region.

“Advancis is redefining the security technology conversation,” says Gireraj Durairaj, Sales Director – Asia at Advancis. “It’s not just another platform in a crowded marketplace, but the convergence layer that Asia-Pacific urgently needs to simplify complexity, strengthen resilience, and safeguard long-term investments.”

Advancis believes the APAC market is ripe for its offerings, driven by factors such as government investment in smart cities, the accelerating adoption of AI, IoT, and OT/IT, and the rise of Industry 4.0.

“The structural drivers of growth remain steady,” says Durairaj, noting that the company is primarily focused on Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, and India—markets experiencing a surge in large-scale infrastructure projects.

Unifying Security with WinGuard and AIM

With more than 550 integration adapters, Advancis plans to demonstrate at The Security Event how its unified, open integration platforms can streamline operations across various industries.

Advancis emphasizes that applications from video security to alarms, access control, IoT, and OT data can seamlessly converge on its platforms. This eliminates the need for multiple isolated systems, creating a streamlined environment that allows for dynamic, intuitive workflows across different applications and subsystems from various brands. WinGuard and AIM exemplify how truly open and vendor-neutral solutions can bring efficiency, transparency, and control to modern security environments.

The focus at The Security Event will be on demonstrating that extensive integration doesn’t have to result in a complex user interface. “Operators should be empowered rather than overwhelmed,” says Durairaj. He emphasizes that Advancis’ focus on simplifying the user interface is particularly important at a time when other vendors are promoting plug-and-play cloud solutions, promising fast deployment and minimal customization. However, he argues that this approach comes at a cost.

“While attractive on the surface, these approaches often fall short in complex environments such as manufacturing, critical infrastructure facilities, data centers, and smart cities,” he explains. “The limitations become clear over time: customers encounter rigid integrations, restricted functionality, and workflows that cannot flex with evolving operational demands. Instead of enabling growth, these ‘one-size-fits-all’ solutions can create costly lock-in.”

Instead, Advancis aims to bring all functionalities into view on a single operational layer, regardless of the number of third-party systems involved. By fully integrating applications and subsystems that were previously integrated in a piecemeal fashion, Advancis adds a new layer of value to every deployment. One example is the integration and harmonization of identity data, which often enters the system when access rights are initially granted to a user, with all other areas of deployment.

“For example, in a global manufacturing company, AIM ensures that when an employee changes role, their access rights are automatically updated across all sites and systems – improving both efficiency and security,” states Durairaj. The goal is “seamless interoperability that scales from corporate campuses to airports and industrial facilities,” he adds.

From complexity to clarity

At the Singapore show, Advancis will demonstrate how different systems converge in real-life scenarios. Incident management is another prime example.

“Standard operating procedures pop up automatically when incidents occur, whether it’s an intrusion alarm triggering instant video verification or a fire alarm activating evacuation protocols, showing operators how complexity is simplified into clarity,” says Durairaj.

This demonstrates that operators of fully integrated Advancis-based architectures can respond to any event guided by automated procedures that involve multiple subsystems, which previously needed to be operated separately. The goal is to empower operators to make informed decisions at the right time, whether they are in the security operation center or accessing the system via mobile or web-enabled interfaces. The clarity built into the system extends beyond real-time responses. Every action taken by an operator is captured in detailed audit trails, allowing for regulatory scrutiny and corporate governance.

“This combination of visual impact, operational efficiency, compliance assurance, and emotional resonance creates the game changer factor that ensures Advancis stands apart from the crowd,” says Durairaj.

Looking ahead

Advancis’ vision for the future of systems integration rests on four pillars:

  • Modernizing security operations centers to move beyond reactive security procedures, in favor of predictive and proactive responses. This includes AI-driven analytics, digital twins, and IoT integration.
  • Raising the professionalism of security operators, empowered by frameworks designed to seamlessly transfer knowledge. The goal is to bridge the gap between entry-level operators and seasoned professionals from day one.
  • Providing the operating system for organizations as a whole, with the security operations center serving as the brain of organizational resilience.
  • Ultimately, Advancis seeks to become synonymous with operational problem-solving, by championing true vendor-neutrality in an API-first ecosystem.

“Whether it is a global airport seeking compliance, a data center ensuring uptime, or a smart city integrating disparate subsystems, the instinctive response should be: ‘Bring Advancis in,’” says Durairaj.

‘Convergence is coming’

With its focus on large-scale projects, from booming data center environments to smart cities, the dynamic APAC region presents great opportunities, but also challenges. Infrastructure in many countries is highly fragmented, combining legacy systems with rapidly deployed new technologies. At the same time, governments and private enterprises are investing heavily in new infrastructure.

Large-scale projects in APAC therefore require uncompromising operational resilience amid rising compliance demands. Advancis believes it is uniquely positioned to meet the region’s needs.

“For stakeholders across the region, the question is no longer whether convergence is coming—it is how quickly they can adapt to seize the opportunity,” Durairaj states. “In a region defined by rapid digital transformation, Advancis is not just keeping pace—we are setting the standard for the next era of integrated operations.”

Advancis welcomes visitors to The Security Event Asia at Stand 2107 from November 11-13 to explore its solutions.
