**Majority of Americans Back Gun Detection Tech in Key Locations**

Gun Detection Tech Gains Strong Support in US: Survey

A new survey reveals that a significant majority of Americans (77.4%) are in favor of deploying gun detection technology in schools, workplaces, and other public spaces. The study highlights strong support for integrating camera-based gun detection into existing video surveillance systems, signaling a growing desire for enhanced security measures.

An overwhelming 86% of parents expressed increased confidence in sending their children to schools equipped with gun detection technology, according to the national survey.

The sentiment was mirrored by office workers across the nation, with 74.4% reporting they would feel safer working in offices with gun detection technology in place.

The findings come just a week after Eagle Eye Networks launched its AI-powered gun detection system, aimed at bolstering community safety.

Key Survey Highlights:

  • A substantial 77.4% of Americans support the deployment of AI-powered gun detection in schools, workplaces, and houses of worship.
  • 86% of parents indicated they would feel more secure sending their children to schools equipped with gun detection technology.
  • 76.3% of workers nationwide reported feeling safer in offices with gun detection technology implemented.
  • Respondents showed broad support for integrating gun detection tools with existing video surveillance systems as part of comprehensive safety measures. Notably, 90% of Americans, regardless of political affiliation, expressed greater confidence if schools integrated gun detection with video surveillance.

Leaders across sectors echoed the sentiment:

“I believe parents and teachers are reassured that technology is in place in our school that can help protect students and staff from threats before they escalate. And I’m especially pleased that we can use existing cameras for Eagle Eye Gun Detection,” said Jeffrey Tull, Technology Director, Socorro Schools, Socorro, New Mexico.

“Congregations gather in trust and faith, and today’s security technology like that of Eagle Eye can help protect those sacred spaces and ease people’s minds,” said Jack Ely, Building Coordinator, St. Julian of Norwich Episcopal Church, Austin, Texas.

“The survey results reflect widespread public demand to address gun violence at scale,” said Dean Drako, CEO of Eagle Eye Networks. “Implementing AI-based gun detection can give schools and businesses valuable time to take action and potentially save lives in an active shooter situation.”
