Organizations across various sectors have long recognized the superior security and convenience offered by CLIQ digital key access management systems. Now, a groundbreaking expansion to the CLIQ ecosystem, featuring new Readers and Updaters for both indoor and outdoor environments, simplifies extending a CLIQ solution’s reach like never before – even integrating with third-party digital access devices. This advancement ushers in an era of unprecedented accessibility for CLIQ.
These latest additions to the CLIQ family are fully compatible with both electronic eCLIQ and electromechanical PROTEC2 CLIQ solutions. They streamline secure unlocking and facilitate the effortless transfer of access updates to CLIQ keys. With the innovative CLIQ Readers, keyholders simply insert their key and await visual confirmation from the integrated LED – no twisting required, significantly reducing key wear and tear. The Updater mirrors the intuitive LED indicators found in CLIQ Wall Programming Devices (PDs), providing clear status updates for both access credentials and key battery life.
“The new CLIQ Readers are the first fully integrated readers within the CLIQ system,” explains Ralf Stange, Product Manager at ASSA ABLOY. “Access management becomes incredibly simple because the software treats a Reader just like a cylinder. Furthermore, the new Updater makes it more cost-effective and straightforward to implement secure credential updating protocols in outdoor areas.”
A Fast, Reliable New Reader for Any Environment
The CLIQ Reader offers unparalleled compatibility, seamlessly integrating with an organization’s entire access management infrastructure: CLIQ Web Manager, Local Manager, the CLIQ Go mobile solution tailored for small businesses, and the complete spectrum of CLIQ programmable keys.
Designed for adaptability, the Reader offers customizable setup options to meet diverse needs. Switch delay can be precisely adjusted from 1 to 10 seconds, with the choice of activation upon key insertion or removal. An optional remote relay unit can be incorporated for an enhanced layer of security. By installing and connecting a Reader, a CLIQ system gains control over user access to a wide array of entry points, including doors with electric strikes or motorized locks, automatic revolving or sliding glass doors, lift priority systems, and much more.
Moreover, the Outdoor Reader model encapsulates all this convenient functionality within a robust stainless-steel housing engineered for exterior use. Boasting certified protection against water and dust (IP65) and vandalism (IK09), it reliably expands CLIQ’s use-cases to external barriers, gates, turnstiles, and other outdoor entrances.
Secure Outdoor Credential Management with the New Updater
Another significant enhancement to the device range, the CLIQ Updater provides a secure and efficient method for performing CLIQ key updates outside a building’s confines.
Installation of the Updater is remarkably fast and secure, even for retrofit projects, as it requires no network cable. The device simply connects via an RS485 cable to an existing CLIQ Wall PD (Gen 2), capable of spanning distances up to 200 meters, eliminating the need for complex network configuration. Critically, all security-related elements remain safely within the building’s interior. When linked to a Wall PD equipped with a free output switch function (FO1), the Updater can even activate third-party devices such as electric strikes.
For optimal installation flexibility, all CLIQ Readers and Updaters are available in both flush and surface-mounted configurations to perfectly suit the specific application. The Outdoor Reader and Updater are also offered as e-modules, enabling seamless integration with steles, tableaus, and outdoor intercom systems, including ASSA ABLOY’s acclaimed DoorBird solution.
“With these new additions to the CLIQ device range, facility managers can implement even more comprehensive and flexible access protocols,” adds Ralf Stange. “And like every CLIQ product, they are backed by decades of ASSA ABLOY’s unwavering investment and innovations in lock and key technologies, dedicated to securing homes and businesses worldwide.”
