Dahua’s New Wireless Security: Smarter Deterrence, Nonstop Recording

Dahua Technology is upping the ante in security monitoring with its freshly unveiled trio of wireless cameras: the Picoo F1, Picoo A2, and Apollo Bullet C1. This move underscores the company’s dedication to weaving AI-driven detection, beefed-up deterrence, and energy-efficient recording into the fabric of modern security.

Under the banner of “Seize Every Moment,” these cameras are engineered to capture pivotal events with superior clarity, unwavering reliability, and unmatched flexibility.

Dressed with Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, cutting-edge AI smarts, ingenious power management, and proactive deterrence features, these newcomers are ready to tackle common headaches like murky nighttime visibility, power limitations, false alarms, and the pressing need to nip incidents in the bud.

Next-generation AI and low-light performance

Low-light conditions have long been the bane of security cameras, especially in outdoor settings where natural light is scarce. Enter Dahua’s Picoo F1, armed with a wide F1.0 aperture, an AI-ISP chip, and a beefy CMOS sensor.

This potent combination empowers the camera to deliver full-color night vision without the crutch of additional lighting. The result? Crisp, true-to-life images even when the lights are low.

“With Picoo F1, we’re ditching the need for extra lights while cranking up clarity during nighttime surveillance,” explains John Li, Product Manager at Dahua Technology. “This means no more light pollution, paving the way for a more serene environment for users and their neighbors, all while keeping security tight.”

Another leap forward in Dahua’s new lineup is the active deterrence capability, leveraging visual and audio alerts to step in and avert potential breaches in real-time.

The Picoo A2 boasts an upgraded Red & Blue Warning Light system that springs to life the moment a threat is detected. This system goes beyond mere observation, delivering a striking, high-visibility signal designed to startle intruders and send them running – a far cry from traditional white light alarms.

“When an event trips an alarm, the red and blue lights pack a more powerful deterrent punch, helping thwart potential intrusions before they even happen,” Li elaborates. “This is particularly handy in environments where security demands a highly visible alert system.”

What’s more, the Picoo A2 features automatic tracking and AI-driven human and vehicle detection, drastically cutting down on false alarms triggered by swaying branches or shifting light.

Always-on surveillance with power-efficient technology

For businesses that require round-the-clock surveillance but struggle with a consistent power supply, battery-powered cameras have often been the go-to. However, they typically falter when it comes to battery life. Dahua’s new Apollo Bullet C1 tackles this issue head-on with AOV (Always-On Video) technology, ensuring continuous monitoring with minimal power consumption.

“When the monitoring area is clear, the camera sips energy by snapping one image per second,” Li explains. “But as soon as a person or vehicle crosses into the detection zone, it instantly flips to video recording, ensuring every event is thoroughly documented.”

This smart hybrid recording mode allows users to keep a watchful eye 24/7 while maximizing battery efficiency, making the Apollo Bullet C1 a perfect fit for locations where power outlets are out of reach or wired setups are impractical.

Adding to its convenience, the Apollo Bullet C1 is armed with dual-band Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, reducing interference and ensuring a rock-solid connection, even in areas buzzing with wireless devices.

Faster installation and improved connectivity

Dahua’s latest wireless security solutions are laser-focused on not just performance but also ease of installation. The new cameras incorporate Wi-Fi 6 technology and Bluetooth pairing, making setup a breeze.

“Users can complete device pairing in just three steps, making it easier than ever to install and deploy security cameras. Furthermore, Bluetooth pairing outperforms SoftAP in first-connection reliability, streamlining device onboarding,” Li notes.

The Picoo A2, in particular, sports a redesigned quick-mount bracket that simplifies installation. The bracket itself is secured to the ceiling or wall with screws, but the camera can be snapped onto the bracket without any tools or extra screws.

This makes mounting and removing the device incredibly easy, especially when adjustments or maintenance are needed.

“Simply put, the installation process involves two steps,” Li says. “First, secure the bracket to the mounting surface with screws. Second, attach the camera to the bracket without using any screws. Our design optimization focuses on this second step, making installation and maintenance faster and more convenient for both professional installers and end users.”

Meanwhile, the Apollo Bullet C1 is designed for flexible deployment with its battery-powered design and solar charging option, reducing reliance on wired power. This allows users to install it in locations where running extensive power cables may be impractical, while AOV mode ensures continuous monitoring with ultra-low power consumption.

Use cases: where these cameras fit best

Each of Dahua’s new products is tailored to specific security needs, making them suitable for various residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

* The Picoo F1 is ideal for low-light environments where light pollution is a concern. Whether monitoring backyards, parking lots, or warehouses, its AI-enhanced full-color night vision ensures clear surveillance footage without disrupting the surrounding area with harsh lighting.
* The Picoo A2 is best suited for theft and intrusion prevention scenarios, especially in high-risk locations like retail stores, storage areas, and commercial premises. Its alternating red and blue warning lights act as a strong deterrent, making it clear to potential intruders that the area is under surveillance.
* The Apollo Bullet C1, with its IP66-rated weatherproof housing and long-lasting battery, is designed for outdoor monitoring. Its self-sustaining power management system and ultra-low energy consumption make it particularly useful for large properties, construction sites, farms, and areas with limited wiring feasibility.

Seamless integration with security ecosystems

As security technology advances, integration with existing surveillance systems and mobile applications is becoming increasingly critical. Dahua has designed the Picoo F1, Picoo A2, and Apollo Bullet C1 to be fully compatible with the DMSS platform, allowing users to monitor live video and adjust settings remotely.

“All device functions can be controlled via the DMSS app, and for users who require centralized security management, these wireless cameras can also be connected to a Dahua NVR,” Li says.

Dahua’s development team has also been refining the DMSS 2.0 application, ensuring that the latest version improves user experience and functionality for both end-users and security professionals.

Dahua’s vision for the future of wireless security

Dahua continues to focus on innovation in wireless security, with a commitment to simplified installation, AI-driven automation, and enhanced connectivity. Dahua Wireless series’ philosophy – “Simple connection, flexible usage” – is reflected in its approach to product development, ensuring that security technology remains accessible and effective for a wide range of users.

“Our goal is to integrate AI into our wireless cameras while upgrading hardware specifications to meet evolving security needs,” Li said. “With our new lineup, we have addressed key challenges – poor nighttime surveillance, the need for stronger deterrence, and the inconvenience of power wiring constraints.”

The Picoo F1, Picoo A2, and Apollo Bullet C1 are designed to provide enhanced security coverage while maintaining low energy consumption and minimal installation complexity. As AI capabilities continue to evolve, Dahua is expected to further refine its offerings, ensuring that wireless security solutions become smarter, more reliable, and more efficient.

With the launch of these three new models, Dahua is reinforcing its position in the wireless security market, offering solutions that cater to diverse security requirements while leveraging the latest advancements in AI, power management, and connectivity. As security needs continue to grow, flexibility, reliability, and seamless integration will remain central to the company’s product strategy.
