Global security and access solutions provider dormakaba has announced a significant strategic appointment, naming Heather Torrey as its new Executive Vice President for the Americas. Torrey, a seasoned industry leader, brings a wealth of experience from Honeywell, where she most recently served as General Manager for the Security and Access Solutions business across the Americas region.
Known for her transformative leadership, Torrey’s impressive career portfolio includes extensive experience in leading complex commercial organizations, navigating intricate channel structures, and thriving in international markets, with over a decade spent specifically in the dynamic Asia-Pacific region. This global perspective is expected to be a significant asset to dormakaba’s growth ambitions.
Steve Bewick, Chief Commercial Officer at dormakaba, expressed enthusiasm for the new appointment, stating, “Heather joins us at a pivotal time as we accelerate our growth strategy across North America. From her base at dormakaba’s Americas headquarters in Indianapolis, Torrey will assume responsibility for shaping and executing the commercial strategy for the region. Her mandate includes enhancing customer engagement, fostering strong partnerships, and ensuring seamless alignment with dormakaba’s global strategic priorities.
Academically, Torrey holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and has further honed her governance skills as a graduate of the Director’s Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors. She steps into the role previously held by Ben Brydges, who is set to depart dormakaba at the close of 2025.
