Motorola Solutions Set to Acquire InVisit, Bolstering its Cloud-Based Security Arsenal
Motorola Solutions is making a significant move to fortify its enterprise security offerings. The communications giant has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire InVisit, a California-based firm specializing in cloud-based visitor management solutions. This strategic acquisition promises to enhance Motorola Solutions’ Avigilon Alta security suite, equipping businesses worldwide with advanced tools to combat escalating security threats targeting personnel, operations, and assets.
InVisit’s strength lies in its adaptable and scalable platform, designed to streamline visitor management across diverse sectors, including commercial real estate, multi-tenant buildings, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities. Its system is engineered to meet the complex needs and compliance mandates of large, multi-site organizations.
“Managing visitors presents building teams with a myriad of operational and security challenges,” said Mahesh Saptharishi, executive vice president and chief technology officer, Motorola Solutions. “With this acquisition, we’re continuing to enhance the guest experience while delivering the clarity enterprises need to help keep people safe, places secure and operations running efficiently. And this is all with the flexibility, scalability and accessibility that a unified cloud-native suite can provide to organizations from any place at any time.”
InVisit’s technology empowers organizations to verify visitor identities, assess access privileges based on risk factors, and maintain accurate records of building occupants during emergencies. This extends beyond employees and service providers to encompass the constant flow of visitors.
The InVisit system streamlines guest registration, access control, and host notification, while providing real-time insights into visitor activity. It also strengthens security through blocklist screening to prevent unauthorized access and facilitates rapid visitor identification and accountability during emergencies.
“Joining Motorola Solutions is an incredibly exciting step for us,” said Steven Kim, CEO & CTO, InVisit. “This is a tremendous opportunity to realize the full potential of our technology, working with a global innovator and leader committed to comprehensive enterprise security.”
A Unified Security Ecosystem
Upon completion of the acquisition, Avigilon Alta’s comprehensive security solution will integrate video security, access control, intercom systems, 24/7 virtual monitoring, mailroom package management, wireless locks, and now, advanced visitor management. InVisit is readily accessible through the Avigilon Alta App Marketplace, allowing customers to seamlessly add the feature to their enterprise security suite and manage it from their mobile devices.
