i-PRO Celebrates 6 Years of Independence with Innovation and Growth
i-PRO, formerly Panasonic Security, a global frontrunner in professional security, public safety, and medical solutions, is marking its 6th anniversary as an independent entity. The company is celebrating a period of strong market performance and a deep commitment to innovation, highlighted by the opening of a cutting-edge factory in Japan, an industry-first ISO/IEC 42001 certification for AI management, the introduction of Active Guard 3.0 enhanced with generative AI, and an expansion of its global leadership team.
Since its inception, i-PRO has consistently achieved double-digit growth and maintained strong profitability. This success is largely attributed to the robust demand for its edge-processing AI cameras used in security, safety, and medical fields, as well as its strong reputation for quality engineering and cyber resilience. The company’s annual revenue has increased by over 70 percent since becoming independent. This consistent growth gives partners and end-users confidence in a pioneering company that is both stable and future-oriented, offering innovative, cost-effective technologies built on an open architecture that adapts to evolving customer needs.
New Saga factory strengthens manufacturing resilience
The company’s new Saga factory, located in Tosu City, Saga Prefecture, Japan, is slated to begin full operations as an i-PRO production facility on October 1st, 2025. This strategic move will significantly bolster global manufacturing resilience, ensuring a stable and reliable supply chain for partners and customers.
By relocating production to Japan, i-PRO aims to integrate its design and manufacturing teams, fostering closer collaboration and accelerating both testing and production cycles. The facility will also implement agile, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing processes, combining standardized core modules with custom configurations. This approach is expected to shorten production times, enhance efficiency, and enable faster global delivery of a wider array of products tailored to meet the specific needs of customers.
Industry-first ISO/IEC 42001 certification for AI management
Earlier this year, i-PRO achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first company in the security sector to earn ISO/IEC 42001 certification for AI management. This achievement sets a new industry standard for transparency, ethics, and governance in AI. i-PRO has been at the vanguard of AI research and development for years, providing innovative camera hardware that utilizes edge AI technology in the security, public safety, and medical sectors. Compliance with global standards reinforces customer trust in the safety, integrity, and accountability of i-PRO’s technology.
Enhanced AI search capabilities with Active Guard 3.0
In September, i-PRO launched Version 3.0 of its Active Guard intelligent search software, which includes generative AI features designed to provide operators with more intuitive methods for finding critical evidence. This update allows for free text search using natural language across leading VMS platforms, delivering precise results without the need for predefined tags.
By combining edge-processed metadata from i-PRO AI cameras with an on-premises generative AI engine, Active Guard 3.0 delivers powerful search capabilities and enhanced situational awareness, all while ensuring data remains under the customer’s control. A new Person Image Similarity Search feature further refines investigations by helping to locate visually similar individuals, even when conditions such as clothing or lighting change.
Expanded global leadership team
Reflecting its evolution as a global organization, i-PRO has expanded its board of directors and leadership team, bringing in seasoned executives and respected industry leaders with diverse and international backgrounds. Notable additions include Gerard Figols (Director, Chief Operating Officer), Hiroo Okamoto (Director, Corporate Head & Chief Financial Officer), James Rothstein (Non-executive Director, Global Executive Advisor), Kaori Yagi (Director, Audit & Supervisory Committee Member), Bill Brennan (Chairman of the Americas Board), and Dayanna Nunez (Chief Human Resources Officer). Their collective expertise will support the company’s ongoing transformation into a global entity and guide its strategic investments in innovation and responsible AI practices.
“With an expanding global presence, a strengthened leadership team, and continued investment in AI and edge innovation, i-PRO is entering its seventh year as a trusted, long-term ally for partners and end-users who seek technology that provides both immediate value and future readiness,” said Masato Nakao, CEO of i-PRO.
